For the third year in a row, the Pan Asian American Council (PAAC) is excited to bring in an Asian American speaker to share their experiences and reflect on what their Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) identity means to them. This year, PAAC is collaborating with the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the brothers of Pi Delta Psi (PDP), the sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda (KPL), the Latin American Student Organization (LASO), the Asian American Center (AAC), and the Latinx Student Cultural Center (LSCC) to bring in Harry Shum Jr!
Harry Shum Jr. is a Costa Rican-born Chinese American actor, dancer, singer and choreographer. He is best known for his roles as Mike Chang on the Fox television series Glee, as Magnus Bane on the television series Shadowhunters, has appeared in the films Step Up 2: The Streets, Step Up 3D, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, and the upcoming film Crazy Rich Asians. We can’t wait to hear what Harry has to say about topics such as representation in media, masculinity, privilege, his immigration story, and what it means to be a third culture kid.
Make sure to SAVE THE DATE for this event and join us on March 17th at ISEC Auditorium from 7-8:30 PM.
